Tanuj Lalchandani Astroseer Interview

We at bookGeeks got a lucky chance to interact with Tanuj Lalchandani. Here’s what he has to say about his love for astrology, spirituality, book writing, and social welfare.

In a very young age, you have managed to gain a lot of knowledge. What or who inspired you in this quest for knowledge?
When I was younger, I used to go to the temple every morning before school. I used to listen to some of the stories being told by the priests. They interested me and I started reading them.

This engrossed me into the world of spirituality and I have on the path of self-discovery since then.
Tell us something about what you do. What kind of services you offer and how do you help people?
I provide Vedic astrology, tarot card reading and palmistry services. I also give Vaastu consultations.

I suggest simple karmic remedies which often involve visiting temples, donating food and in general create positivity. I also suggest Rudraksha when it seems appropriate.
Your latest book, Tatva, Soul and Karma provides deep insights into the world of Hinduism and astrology. What is the main objective of the book? How does this book help ordinary people?
I wanted to provide the younger generation with a simple guide towards Hinduism and the various Gods and Goddesses. I also wanted to provide very simple remedies for the planets.

The aim was also to remove the fear of certain planets from the minds of people and also to explain the true essence of astrology.
What are some of the most common mistakes that people make when it comes to astrology?
The most common mistake people make regarding astrology is that it will magically solve everything without putting any effort on their part. Some people are extremely impatient and expect quick results.

Astrology is not about giving quick fixes. A person needs to put some effort and dedication. Remedies require time and faith. Astrology is not magic. It provides guidance.
What are the other interests that you pursue outside of your profession? Tell us about your likes and dislikes.
I really enjoy travelling. I travel a lot to Rajasthan. By the grace of God, I have been able to fulfil my dream of building a temple in Tonk, Rajasthan. So I pay a visit there every month.

Apart from this, my work often takes me to different places. Travelling makes me happy. I enjoy photography as well. Apart from this, I am a car enthusiast.
How often do you read books? Tell us about a few books that you highly recommend to Indian readers.
I read occasionally. I enjoy reading books related to astrology.

Apart from this, I enjoy poetry. Gulzar ji is one of my favourites and I would highly recommend his collection of poems.
In your latest book, you talk about the importance of nature in Hinduism. Can you shed some light on this subject? How do nature, astrology and spirituality connect with one other?
Nature has always played an important role in Hinduism. Worshipping the peepal tree, worshipping cows, the river Ganga, etc., are just some of the examples.

In Hinduism, it is said that God resides in every being. We, humans, are dependent on our environment and worshipping them should be an obvious choice.

Their preservation should be our duty. Without the rivers, trees and animals, it would be difficult to sustain life. The simplest way to show devotion is by thanking these resources provided by nature.

Different planets are associated with different plants, animals, etc. They can be appeased by worshipping or feeding those plants/animals.

I will give a few examples.

• To strengthen the Sun, feed monkeys with wheat, sweet bread loaf and jaggery.
• To obtain the blessings of Mercury and gaining intelligence and public speaking skills, offer moong dal and green things to a goat or pigeons or feed a cow with green fodder.
• For pacifying Saturn, offer urad dal and almonds to buffalo.
• For pacifying Rahu, offer mustard, coconut and barley to elephant or rat or offer sweet bread with milk to crows.
• To obtain auspicious results from Ketu offer sesame, milk and bananas to donkey, pig or black dog.
Tell us about your upcoming books. How many writing projects are you currently working on?
I am planning two books, one on Vaastu and the other on Rudraksha. I am working on them simultaneously.
If you had to give only one astrology tip to our readers, what will it be?
Chant “OM”. This is the basis of all mantras. This is the simplest and most effective tip that I can give anyone. Do this with belief.

I believe in doing good deeds and that is another thing I would recommend to everyone.
Are you an ambitious person? What are your goals and aspirations with respect to your writing and the social services that you undertake?
I am very ambitious and am working hard towards achieving my dreams. My biggest dream was to build a temple which I have fulfilled by starting a temple in Tonk, Rajasthan.

I organize free consultation days for people. In this way, I try to help them as much as I can.

My next dream is to start an ambulance service which connects small villages to city hospitals. Step by step, I wish to move closer to realising my dreams.
