Wiley is new and curious to the outside world and he asks a number of questions to his mother to find out as much as possible about this new world.

PAGES: 35
AGE: 7+ years

There are 35 pages in Poly-Trap and most of the pages contain one or two lines at the max. The book was sent to me in exchange for an honest review from Red Turtle Publications.

STORY: 3.5/5

The story is of young Wiley, a baby seahorse who sets on to discover the sea along with his mother and in the process gathers information about the various sea creatures and the one problem which all the sea creatures are facing – Poly Bags.

ILLUSTRATIONS: 3/5

The illustrations are okay but I firmly believe that they could have been much better. In some places the picture resolution is poor and that spoils the reading pleasure.

Also, some of the illustrations seem out of sync with their background.

VALUES: 4.5/5

The book educates and creates awareness among children about a very serious issue – pollution (especially water pollution through poly bags) and also the way such pollution can be contained and even prevented.

It is very important to teach our children the value of a clean and green environment in order to make way for a brighter future for them. I thus regard this book of great value in being able to do so in a friendly and fun way.

ENTERTAINMENT QUOTIENT: 3.5/5

Poly-Trap is entertaining and illuminating at the same time.

It helps create awareness, is colourful and attractive and also has a recap section where the children can list down the sea animals they have learnt about from the book.

Priced at Rs 195/- it is a good value for money. I will hence recommend it to parents with children of age 7 years and above.
