In the words of the famous English singer and songwriter John Lennon, “Love is a promise; love is a souvenir, once given never forgotten, never let it disappear” and just like the legendary superstar, I too, strongly believe that love can never be forgotten. It can be pushed away but never be erased.

So what better way to cherish and reminisce your love than to read a love story or better a collection of love stories?

So all you hopeless romantics out there (just like me here) worry not, for the famous blogger Namrata (of the privytrifles fame) has come out with this amazing collection of love stories which will not only make your heart skip a beat but will also leave you craving for more.

Metro Diaries, all of 162 pages is a collection of 17 heart-warming love stories.

An interesting fact about the book is that all the stories are true stories with only the names of places and characters changed to protect the identities of the people whom they are based on.

The stories mostly come across as narration of thoughts of the characters and may not usually have a solid plot or storyline.

In that way, they focus more on the feelings which the person in love is going through than the actual story or tale. And it is this in-depth narrative only which comes across as the USP of the book.

Some of the stories even do not have ends; for they just describe a brief phase in the character’s life and in doing so more than make up for a solid plot or storyline.

Out of all the stories “Once in a Lifetime”, “You & I”, and “Love Thy Dreams” are some which I enjoyed a lot.

There were a few instances where the beauty of the words and the feelings they expressed left me spellbound and I couldn’t help shed a tear or two.

Another bonus of the book was the beautiful poetry which preceded every chapter and which added to its charm. The only issue with the book was a ‘not so attractive’ cover and a bad editing job.

But rest assured, if you are a romantic at heart, this book is one you simply cannot afford to miss.

I thus rate Metro Diaries four out of five stars and wish the author all the very best for her future work for I am eagerly waiting for her next book.
