The book is typically a romance however it isn’t one of those overly cheesy and cringe-worthy romances that leave you irritated. What sets Heart Quake apart is its unique setting in the aftermath of the Bhuj earthquake. Heart Quake isn’t about “love at first sight”; instead it tells us the story of a love rekindling after 10 years of separation.
The Full Circle by Namrata Gupta is an easy read and would be perfect for new readers. It is a mix of romance, drama and mystery. Though the drama and romance far outweigh the mystery elements, the book puts forth a delectable combination that is both refreshing and entertaining.
Most of the college romances that I read touch upon a college goer’s daily life but does so only superficially. In Himanshu Rai’s My Mute Girlfriend, however, the readers also get to relive those days of college life in a better manner. The thing that sets this book apart from others is its “true story” tag.
The Unhealthy Love is everything you’d like from an exciting, fast book. Romance, delight, mystery. It starts with just the right amount of intrigue where you wonder about the characters as they slowly unravel. There is no need to worry about pace or balance since the flow of the story take care of that.
She Friend-Zoned My Love is an excellent way for you to pass a lazy Sunday afternoon or a lonely Saturday night. It addresses many issues which youngsters face today – first love, break-ups and friendships, trolling, body shaming and because of this, it will be relatable to many readers who choose to pick it.
Letters to My Ex is a simple love story narrated in a very unconventional format – the story is told by the way of letters which the lovers write to each other. This book is a very good example of how a cliché and below average plot doesn’t work even for a best-selling author like Nikita Singh.
Life and Other Near-Death Experiences tells us the story of Libby whose world is shattered when she comes to know two things– (1) she is suffering from cancer, and (2) her husband of nearly two decades is a gay. Shell-shocked she flees from Chicago and takes refuge in a desolate Carribean island where the promise of sun-kissed sands and a hot guy brings her some respite.
Forsaken by Desire by S. Shekhar is a romance, with the right amount of drama and passion mixed with it. It is gorgeously written – just the right words, the right adjectives, the right dialogues. The romance isn’t too cheesy, and yet it delivers the perfect amount of butterfly-in-the-tummy moments.
