My musings

Blogging has been around for a while and it is here to stay. A lot of people wish to venture into the world of blogging but have no idea how to go about it. If you have questions related to blogging then a good idea would be to start with Anuj Tikku’s Blogging for Gold, a book that helps amateurs with the answers they seek.

This book, Blogging for Diamond is the author’s 2nd
book on the subject which is meant to offer deeper insights and professional
level advice to the same set of readers who are keen on the path of blogging.

What to expect?

Expect a book that is a short read and that can be read in a
matter of 1 or 2 hours. Expect a book that gives you an insider’s account of
blogging including details on some very crucial monetary aspects of blogging.

Expect a book that also tells you something about being an author and about marketing your self-published book. Finally, expect a book that gives you an overall idea of being a blogger, a vlogger, and an author.

Who can read?

The book can be read by anyone with basic English level
skills. The language is kept simple and the concepts are easy enough to be
understood by amateurs.

What kind of research has gone into the book?

Blogging for Diamond is a book that doesn’t give you
a lot of information. In addition to it, the information that it gives is only
based on the author’s own experience as opposed to solid research.

Let’s talk about the writing style

The writing style of the author is flowy and the text is to
the point and concise. Anuj openly shares his own experiences and point of
views and his candid style quickly establishes an easy camaraderie with the
reader.

What did I like?

I think the best part about the book is it’s practical and to the point advice. The author is quite candid when he says that blogging as a money-making venture takes a while to establish, and that too is not before some serious effort and cash outflows.

I also like the way Anuj gives us an idea of the costs
involved in blogging in solid monetary terms. This is a huge insight and
something that not every blogger likes to share with their readers.

What I did not like?

This is something that I insist on all the time and yet so
many authors choose to neglect it – editing. The experience of reading Blogging
for Diamond
would have been so much enhanced had the book been better
edited. Instead, it has plenty of spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and
some copy-editing errors too.

Is the book interesting to read?

Blogging for Diamond is indeed insightful and interesting. Since it is written in a candid conversational style, the flow of the book is also smooth and quick. It won’t be wrong to say that the book is interesting.

In the end

With not much research to boast about and only the author’s
own experience to its credit, Blogging for Diamond is a book that can be
read as an add-on read in addition to other books but certainly not as a standalone
read on the subject. Learning about book marketing and vlogging is an added
incentive that can be used to market the book and push its sales.
