bookGeeks: Tell us something about Amisha as a person
Amisha: I am an extremely intuitive person, love to smile and make others smile all the time. I am a firm believer in living every moment in a fearless grand way. In the long run, what matters are my experiences and how they can help me in being a great human being.
bookGeeks: What was the biggest inspiration behind “It Doesn’t Hurt to Be Nice”?
Amisha: My biggest inspiration was my own “moment of truth” or self-realization about my purpose of life which is to be a good human being with each passing day. Also, as a matter of fact, I have done extensive reading of ancient scriptures like Upanishads, Gita, Yoga Vashista, Kamasutra, modern and ancient philosophers and Sanskrit poets like Saint Kabir. I was astonished by the pearls of wisdom of very verse and had this strong urge to transcend the essence in a simple and entertaining form that can reach and benefit millions
bookGeeks: Tell us about your experience as a debut author
Amisha: My experience has been enthralling! The phrase here is “mind-blowing astronomical extravaganza”. It’s like living a dream and that too with a purpose of spreading goodness, love, and kindness. Every day was new learning and of course thanks to the magical team of Srishti, my ride couldn’t have been better. You can get a publisher to merely publish but when someone believes in your purpose of writing and stand by you, is when the journey is truly enriching!
bookGeeks: Any new projects you are currently working on?
Amisha: Yes, I am working on my second book called “Love is simple but why men are so complex”. It touches the beautiful nuances of love and why it is indeed the most profound feeling available to the humankind. The story will have undercurrents of drama, romance, humour and of course a strong message of eternal love and its purity.
bookGeeks: Which is your favourite book and why?
Amisha: My all-time favourite is “Upanishads”. No matter how many times I read them, I find this strong urge to go deeper and deeper into each verse. Believe me, you can spend a month just trying to soak the knowledge from one single verse. The wisdom is gorgeously timeless, positive and leaves me on a high note.
bookGeeks: What are your thoughts on work-life balance?
Amisha: I think if one wants, can easily create a nice balance between personal and professional life. The problem is we take our life too seriously. Just flow with life and it will bring experiences that you can’t even imagine. Do what you truly want to do and not due to an outside identity. I always urge people to go with the inner voice and not what your family, friends, boss or colleagues are saying. I was working full time when I was writing “It Doesn’t Hurt To Be Nice” and religiously took out time for it even if that meant getting up at 5 am or sit at my lake-facing balcony at 1 am-midnight to write the whole night.
bookGeeks: A few words for your fans
Amisha: Just live life fearlessly and with utmost compassion and love. You are not answerable to anyone. You are absolutely complete in yourself and hence don’t seek happiness outside of you. Inner peace is what matters and simply nothing else.
bookGeeks: A few words for bookGeeks.in
Amisha: One of the best review site I have come across globally. I loved the pattern of reviewing, the honesty of the reviewer and focus on what matters for a reader.
